What is a signal attenuator used for?
Attenuators are used to lower the power of the television signal when the signal is excessively strong. Television needs the signal to be within certain limits, it is as bad to have a low signal as it is to have a very high signal. The case in which the signal is very high is called saturation and the problem can be corrected with an attenuator placed on the television socket.
