The Ajax Black Wireless Rate-of-Rise Heat Detector with Built-in Siren is designed for early fire detection by monitoring changes in ambient temperature. It is particularly suitable for areas where the regular presence of smoke or steam can make conventional smoke detectors less appropriate.

Its two external Class A1R thermistors provide a fast response to thermal changes. The detector triggers an alarm if the temperature rises by more than 10°C within one minute or exceeds 64°C and features a built-in 85 dB siren to provide an immediate local warning. This makes it particularly suitable for installers protecting kitchens, garages, technical rooms and other areas where heat detection is preferable to relying on the presence of smoke.

FireProtect 2 (Heat) Jeweller operates as part of the Ajax wireless security system using the Jeweller protocol, providing bidirectional communication with a range of up to 1,700 metres in open space. The RB version is powered by 2 pre-installed CR123A batteries, providing up to 7 years of battery life. The SmartBracket mounting panel and QR code pairing through the Ajax app make installation and configuration quick and straightforward. It is intended for new installations or extensions of compatible Ajax systems; it is not a replacement part.

In summary, this black Ajax heat detector combines fast rate-of-rise temperature detection, local audible warning and secure wireless communication in a compact, easy-to-install device. It can be integrated with an Ajax alarm control panel and, for larger installations, the wireless coverage can be extended using Ajax wireless range extenders.
