Ajax GlandBox for surface mounting the EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller

The Ajax GlandBox AJ-EN54-GLANDBOX-W provides a clean, secure and professional surface-mounting solution for the fire alarm control panel. It enables neat lateral cable entry when cables cannot be concealed inside the wall or routed through recessed conduits.

It features 16 cable gland mounting points, four on each side, supporting diameters of up to 20 mm. Integrated cable retainers, a built-in bubble level, orientation marking and centring guides help installers route the wiring and position the unit accurately.

This surface-mounting box is designed exclusively for the Ajax EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller white fire alarm control panel. It is suitable for new installations and for adapting an existing panel to surface-run cabling; it is not a universal replacement part for other hubs.

Its perforated section aligns with the control panel’s tamper switch to retain removal and tampering detection when the assembly is correctly installed. It is intended for indoor use, provides IP20 protection and is supplied without cable glands.

Example 1. Installing a fire alarm control panel in a historic building

During the refurbishment of a protected building where wall chasing is not permitted, the installer can surface-mount the GlandBox and route the power, Ethernet and signal cables laterally into the EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller. This avoids altering the wall while providing a neat installation that remains accessible for inspection and maintenance.

Example 2. Relocating the control panel in commercial premises

When refurbishment work requires the control panel to be moved and the existing wiring runs through surface trunking, the GlandBox provides an orderly transition into the panel enclosure. Its cable gland mounting points and internal retainers help secure each cable, while the perforated section preserves the operation of the control panel’s tamper switch when the assembly is correctly installed.
