The Surmedia SMT85W is a Triplex UHF antenna designed primarily for outdoor Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) reception. Its high reception capability makes it particularly suitable for homes and installations where the signal is weak or affected by geographical or structural obstacles. Its configuration of 25 elements, three director arrays and a specified gain of 18 dB is designed to improve UHF signal reception without unnecessarily increasing the overall size of the antenna. The SMT85W operates in the UHF band allocated to DTT, channels 21–48 (470–694 MHz), and incorporates protection against LTE/5G interference outside the television band. It is intended for new installations or the upgrade of existing reception systems and is not a replacement part for a specific device.
Its Triplex design, high gain and straightforward mast installation make it a practical solution for outdoor systems requiring stable, high-quality reception. When signal measurements show that cable and distribution losses need to be compensated for, the system can be complemented with a masthead amplifier.
