Ajax Socket (type G) Jeweller Smart Plug
The Ajax Socket (type G) Jeweller allows you to remotely switch electrical appliances and devices on or off directly from the Ajax apps. It is particularly useful for appliances that may accidentally be left running when leaving your home or office, such as an electric heater, Christmas tree lights, lamps or other electrical appliances, allowing you to cut their power even when you are away.
This remote switching capability provides greater control over electrical devices that may consume unnecessary energy or pose a potential risk if left running unattended. If, after leaving, you are unsure whether you switched off a heater or the Christmas tree lights, you can disconnect the appliance remotely through the Ajax app, without having to return to the property. Socket operates within the Ajax system using the Jeweller communication protocol, supports loads of up to 13 A and 3 kW, and provides encrypted two-way communication at distances of up to 1,100 metres in an open space.
Another particularly useful application is controlling an electric water heater, provided that its electrical requirements are within the device's supported limits. Using Ajax automation scenarios, the water heater can be powered only during specific periods of the day instead of remaining connected around the clock. This makes it possible to adapt its operation to the users' daily routine and reduce unnecessary electricity consumption. The smart plug also provides energy consumption monitoring, making it easier to track the electricity used by the connected appliance.
The AJ-SOCKET-G-W combines remote switching, energy consumption monitoring and electrical appliance automation within the Ajax ecosystem. It can be integrated with an Ajax alarm hub and used alongside other devices, such as an Ajax temperature, humidity and CO2 sensor, to create more advanced automation scenarios. It is intended for new installations or extensions of compatible Ajax systems and is not a replacement spare part.
