Strong SRT8250 DVB-T2 H.265 4K Ultra HD Receiver with PVR

The Strong SRT8250 is a digital terrestrial receiver designed to watch free-to-air television through a conventional aerial. Within our range of DTT receivers, it stands out for its support for DVB-T2, HEVC/H.265 and 4K Ultra HD resolution.

It can upgrade 4K televisions whose built-in tuner does not support DVB-T2 broadcasts encoded in HEVC. The receiver processes 10-bit video, HDR10, HLG and BT.2020 Wide Color Gamut, and features an HDMI 2.0 output for connection using a 4K-compatible HDMI cable.

Its TV SCART output allows it to be used with older televisions via a SCART cable. The USB 2.0 port also supports PVR recording and Timeshift, although these functions require a suitable external USB drive or hard disk, which is not included.

The receiver provides storage for 999 channels, a seven-day EPG, Dolby Audio, teletext, subtitles, favourite lists, parental control and a 2-in-1 remote control, making it suitable for both new installations and television upgrades.

Practical applications for the Strong SRT8250 4K terrestrial receiver

Example 1: Upgrading a 4K television without a DVB-T2 HEVC tuner

An installer can connect the Strong SRT8250 to a 4K television whose built-in tuner does not support DVB-T2 broadcasts encoded in HEVC/H.265. The terrestrial aerial is connected to the receiver and the video signal is delivered through HDMI, allowing UHD channels to be received when the broadcast and local signal support them, with HDR10 and HLG compatibility.

Example 2: Adding digital terrestrial reception to an older television

In a home, accommodation facility or installation that still uses a television with a SCART input, the technician can install the Strong SRT8250 as an external digital tuner. Its TV SCART output keeps the existing screen in service for DTT reception, while the USB port adds PVR recording and Timeshift when a suitable external storage device is connected.
