Fermax 9251 Iris Connect DUOX Plus Hands-Free Telephone

The Fermax 9251 Iris Connect DUOX Plus Hands-Free Telephone is a compact, modern and ultra-slim alternative to a conventional handset telephone. It provides hands-free communication with visitors and door release control without incorporating a video screen.

It operates on DUOX PLUS non-polarised 2-wire installations and features Push-to-Talk mode, volume adjustment, Do Not Disturb and auto-on. Its mechanical door release button is surrounded by Fermax’s distinctive blue illuminated ring.

The Doormatic function automatically releases the door when a call is received, making it particularly useful in offices, clinics and professional premises with a constant flow of visitors. It is suitable for new installations and compatible DUOX PLUS replacements, although compatibility with DUOX 3.0 and earlier systems cannot be guaranteed in every case.

Call forwarding to smartphones or tablets requires a compatible CONNECT outdoor panel and an active subscription. Installation also requires the Fermax 9447 V2 DUOX PLUS connector, which is not included with the telephone.

Example 1: Access management in a clinic or professional office

In a clinic with a reception desk and a DUOX PLUS installation, the Fermax 9251 allows staff to communicate with visitors using hands-free audio. During opening hours, the Doormatic function can release the entrance automatically after each call, preventing reception staff from having to interrupt their work whenever someone arrives.

Example 2: Replacement of an indoor telephone with a handset

In a home or office with a compatible DUOX PLUS system, an installer can replace the existing indoor telephone with a compact, handset-free audio terminal. The Iris Connect telephone retains visitor communication and door release functions without adding a video screen. Call forwarding can also be enabled when the installation includes a compatible CONNECT outdoor panel and the corresponding subscription service.
