The EK CM COMPACT 8S2 transmodulator creates a customised communal TV lineup from selected satellite services, distributing them through the coaxial network as two DVB-T or DVB-C channels. It is a cost-effective compact solution for hotels, residential communities and buildings with multiple televisions.

Its two physical satellite inputs feed eight DVB-S/S2/S2X Multistream tuners, enabling reception from up to eight transponders distributed across two satellite polarities. Intelligent remultiplexing allows specific programmes from different transponders to be combined within the two output multiplexes, subject to the available bitrate of each channel.

The unit converts satellite signals into two flexible COFDM DVB-T or QAM DVB-C output channels, suitable for communal terrestrial or cable TV networks. It supports 13/18 V LNB control, 22 kHz tone, DiSEqC A/B/C/D and Unicable SatCR/dCSS. It is intended for new headend installations and complete system upgrades, rather than as a direct replacement for equipment from other ranges.

Programming through CM Management simplifies service selection, NIT table editing, SID remapping and LCN or LCN HD insertion. The unit can be mounted on the EK three-unit wall chassis and integrated with other equipment from the satellite transmodulators and processors range.
