The T-218H supports SMF G.652/G.657, MMF G.651, DSF G.653 and NZDSF G.655 fibers. SKYCOM specifies an average splice loss of 0.02 dB for SM fiber and 0.01 dB for MM fiber, with a typical splice time of 8 seconds and heating time of 20 seconds. Automatic, manual and full-auto splicing modes are available.
