The Fagor DER 615 is designed to tap and distribute the signal from a main coaxial trunk line to 6 homes, hotel rooms or user outlets, while maintaining the continuity of the main line. It is particularly suitable for residential buildings, hotels and other collective installations with six users per floor.

This 6-output tap operates across the 5 to 2300 MHz frequency range, making it suitable for both terrestrial television and satellite intermediate frequency (Satellite IF) signals. Its six tap outputs provide 15 dB tap attenuation, allowing the signal to be distributed to users while the main trunk continues towards the following floors.

Unlike a conventional splitter, the DER 615 features a trunk input and through output together with six tap outputs. This configuration makes it particularly suitable for installers designing DTT and satellite distribution networks in ICT installations with six homes or rooms per floor. It can be used for both new installations and the replacement of compatible taps, and combined with other TV signal taps when configuring the building's coaxial distribution network.

Its fully shielded construction and F-type connections provide a professional solution for collective TV systems. The Fagor DER 615 is especially useful when six users on the same floor need to be served while maintaining trunk-line continuity, and the installation can be completed with 75 Ohm F-type termination loads when required by the network configuration.

Example 1. ICT distribution for six apartments per floor:

In a residential building with six apartments on each floor, the Fagor DER 615 can be installed on the main coaxial trunk to provide one tap output for each dwelling. Each branch is supplied with a nominal attenuation of 15 dB, while the through output keeps the main distribution line active for the floors located further along the network.

This arrangement is especially useful for professional installers designing structured ICT distribution systems, because the six local users can be served without terminating the trunk line at that floor. The 5–2300 MHz bandwidth also allows the same distribution infrastructure to carry both terrestrial TV and Satellite IF signals.

Example 2. TV distribution in a hotel with six rooms per floor:

In a hotel with six rooms on each floor, the DER 615 can provide one coaxial branch for every room while preserving the continuity of the main riser. This makes it possible to organise the distribution floor by floor without replacing the trunk architecture with a simple six-way splitter.

Its 15 dB tap attenuation helps establish a controlled signal level at each local branch, while the through path keeps the remaining signal available for subsequent sections of the installation. Final level planning should always be based on the complete network calculation and the losses of the remaining components.
