This type of attenuator is used in the distribution system of television installations to decrease the signal level by 20dB. Its connector is type F, one male and one female. The attenuator allows the passage of current. .

An attenuator is usually used when we need to reduce the signal level. For example, it is often used at the input of a line amplifier in an ICT installation, when the input signal is too high and we need to decrease the level at the input so that the amplifier can operate at its optimum levels and amplify the signal without becoming saturated.
